💖 We are delighted to recognise our wonderful couple Mel and Dan as our June client of the month. Your love, trust, and commitment to one another are truly inspiring. Congratulations on this special recognition, and thank you for allowing us to be part of your journey together.
Check out Dan’s story…
Which program are you part of at CoreFit?
Small group
What training, if any, did you do before starting with CoreFit?
Not much. Played AFL until I was 28 then did nothing
What inspired you to reach out to CoreFit to get started?
My wife Mel was going so I decided to join her. I started doing 5.45 classes but when Covid hit I switched to 8.30 and have stayed there ever since. That way I’m in the same class as Mel.
Whats the #1 thing you’ve noticed in yourself since starting?
Definitely a lot stronger. Help massively when I tore my rotator cuff and had surgery last year. My recovery was so much quicker because I had been training before the injury and also post injury recovery.
What do you enjoy most about training at CoreFit?
The comradery and banter
What’s your number #1 piece of advice for anyone looking to start their fitness journey?
Just do it. Don’t put it off as it will just get harder the later you start.

Which program are you part of at CoreFit? Small group 8.30am class
What training, if any, did you do before starting with CoreFit? Walking, floated in and out of aqua aerobics and gym classes, did a little hiking.
What inspired you to reach out to CoreFit to get started? Saw the add on Facebook many years ago and thought I needed to get back into exercising I was struggling mentally due to stress and bulling.
Whats the #1 thing you’ve noticed in yourself since starting? I can skip, run(somewhat 🙂 ) do sit ups,
has helped my mental health dramatically. defintly lift weights that I never thought possible and always wished I could.
What do you enjoy most about training at CoreFit?
What I enjoy most about the gym is the small-group environment, there’s no judgment, just encouragement. It’s not about appearance; it’s about improving yourself and becoming better at whatever stage you’re at, physically and mentally.
Over the years, all of the coaches I’ve had have been supportive, fun, and incredibly knowledgeable. They’re great at teaching proper techniques and offering alternatives when needed, always meeting you where you are in your journey. On top of that, I’ve made some wonderful friends—both women and men—that I’ve connected with beyond the gym. It’s truly a great community to be part of, and it’s the reason I’m still here more than six years later.
What’s your number #1 piece of advice for anyone looking to start their fitness journey?
One key piece of advice I’d give is to take that first step, no matter where you are physically or mentally. Stick with it, even when you feel like you can’t keep going—I’ve been there, and so have most of us who attend Corfit. The coaches and members will encourage and support you every step of the way. Before long, you’ll find yourself achieving things you never thought possible.
Congratulats Mel and Dan! 🥂 Wishing you both continued happiness, love, and success in the years ahead!
