At age 19 Dan became unwell which led to a number of hospital visits, inactivity and a lack of confidence. Months down the track, he was diagnosed with Coeliac disease and began the slow road to recovery which meant a significant change in diet and a very slow return to exercise whilst battling fatigue.
The diagnosis was a blessing in disguise as it forced him to re-evaluate his approach to nutrition and exercise, which in previous years had comprised of unhealthy habits, namely lots of takeaway and processed foods.
Today Dan incorporates weights, cycling and functional training into his routine. The extent of his own personal health challenges alongside 12 years of personal training experience have provided him with a lifetime of knowledge and different perspectives on fitness.
At age 26, Ali sustained an unfortunate injury, when she ruptured the C 5/6 discs in her cervical spine and as a result underwent a rehabilitation regime. The experience was a turning point which then altered her approach and appreciation of human movement.
The experience has given her a greater understanding of the human body and an ability to relate to clients who have sustained and continue to experience chronic pain as part of their day to day living.
Having to live with and overcome chronic pain has empowered Ali to reinforce the importance of positive mindset and focusing on what you can do, rather than what you can’t.
I have always been involved in sport whether that be athletics or ballet. I looked up to my father who was a Professional Golfer and I wanted to follow suit and become a professional ballet dancer. However, I didn’t feel that this would serve me long term and after 15 years of training most days of the week I decided to change career prospects.
I ended up following my passion for French and teaching. After completing my Bachelor and Master’s degrees I headed overseas and taught for 4 years in France. Yet, the call back home was too great. This move home coincided with a knowing that my life wasn’t heading in the right direction and at 33 years old despite society’s expectation of someone at this age “having it all together” I decided to follow my heart and my passion for movement. I am definitely not looking back and feel that this is the right path for me.
Exercise is the drug that not everyone uses and I wholeheartedly believe that it should be a staple in all of our lives. I am looking forward to being part of CoreFit and developing my knowledge in women’s health and holistic health. At the moment though strength training is definitely what I feel most aligned with.
Having spent the first 20 years of my life in Dubbo, I moved to Newcastle for university and soccer. I have two qualifications, one being a Bachelor of Education (Primary) and the other a Cert 3 and 4 in Fitness. I consider myself extremely lucky to have to opportunity to work in two different industries which I am extremely passionate about.
My passion for fitness was began at a young age through soccer and only intensified as I got older and started lifting weights. My training style is a mixture of cardio and weights, as I don’t mind a run either.
My goal is help educate and motivate others to reach their full potential, both physically and mentally.
I have always had a strong passion for sport and fitness and any kind of fun outdoor activities. I love to bring my experience and knowledge of sports performance and lifting techniques to the gym and help people achieve their fitness goals.
I don’t look at Personal Training as a job it’s more of a passion. I am still actively playing rugby union and love to get out for a round of golf.
I love to make the gym a place that people can’t wait to get to in the morning or evening, a place they feel at home.
If I could explain myself in 3 words they would be; Approachable, positive and fun.

I am an ocean loving Yogi who is passionate in sharing all things Yoga with all that I meet.
I believe the benefits of Yoga are endless- to build strength for our bones and muscles, increased mobility, stress reducing, a perfect compliment to high intensity exercise and time to calm the busy mind.
I aim to provide a nurturing and accommodating environment for all Yogis no matter what stage of life or level of fitness they are at. Each class has asana flows (movement linked to breath), breathing practices and meditation.
Why not give balance to your wellness habits with a Yoga class at CoreFit.
For many years now I have assisted businesses in increasing their social media presence in the beauty, mum and child, and health and wellness industries.
Supporting businesses in reaching more people and increasing sales isn’t just about the money for me, it’s about assisting the community to resolve their problems or overcoming their hurdles in order to live a healthier life.
In recent years, more of us have suffered poor health and I have experienced it first hand too. So I understand the importance of staying physically fit and healthy.
As part of the CoreFit Team, I help them raise awareness of the important of health and fitness so we can help more people in the community to live a long vibrant life!
