Which program are you part of at CoreFit? Group fitness.

What training, if any, did you do before starting with CoreFit? I used to do circuit training at gyms years ago for a time. I did park run for a little while before COVID hit.

What inspired you to reach out to CoreFit to get started? I saw the CoreFit add on Facebook and thought I’d just check it out. I wanted to get back in to doing exercise since the COVID period prevented me from doing a lot physically apart from work. As I’m getting older and noticing that my body is aging I want to work on creating healthy habits so that I can prevent health and mobility issues from creeping up as I age.

Whats the #1 thing youโ€™ve noticed in yourself since starting? I’ve learnt how bad habits have prevented me from attaining my optimum fitness and mobility and I’m slowly working on getting back what I have lost over the years. I’m able to achieve new personal bests in the classes which is encouraging and, generally, feel more confident that I can achieve fitness goals if I put my mind to it and keep working at it.

What do you enjoy most about training at CoreFit? Apart from working on and improving my physical fitness, I enjoy the support from the CoreFit community and trainers. There is a sense that we’re all in this together, and everyone is equal no matter how fit you might be. It’s an encouraging environment and nobody is competing with anybody else (we compete with ourselves only).

Whatโ€™s your number #1 piece of advice for anyone looking to start their fitness journey? Just start. You have nothing to lose. Your physical, mental, and emotional health is very important and taking the time to invest in it is one of the most worthwhile things you can do for yourself. It takes time to achieve your fitness goals and you need to work at your own pace and not compare yourself to anyone else. Sometimes it can be a long, slow, journey to achieving the results you want, but persistence is key in getting there.
