We appreciate Jo’s unwavering dedication to training every week which is why she is our client of the month.
Which program are you part of at CoreFit? Small Group and PT
What training, if any, did you do before starting with CoreFit? I’ve always been fit and active and played a lot of sport such as tennis, netball and soccer and took up SUP boarding in my 40s.
What inspired you to reach out to CoreFit to get started? In 2018 I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. Chemo was a treat! And then I discovered it had spread to my lymph nodes which needed to be “auxiliarised” before I started radiation in 2019. By early 2021, I decided that, as I’m living til I’m 90, I’d better start working on my strength and flexibility so I can wipe my own bum at that age! The thing that struck me most about CoreFit was it’s led by Ali who had had her own health battles and for some reason that resonated with me enough to get in touch.
Whats the #1 thing you’ve noticed in yourself since starting? My increased level of fitness and strength! I love it!!! In February, I set myself a goal to run 5kms by November. Thanks to Brooke, my trainer, I met that goal in July – 4 months early! And now I’m setting PBs! I’ve also recently discovered my abs again!!
What do you enjoy most about training with CoreFit? The number 1 thing I love most about CoreFit is the safe and comfortable environment I train in. If you’re all about the latest gymwear matching your eyeshadow and lash combo, or need a full wall of mirrors to watch yourself train, then CoreFit probably isn’t for you. Everyone at CoreFit is there for the same reason: to work on their health and fitness and to have a great time doing it. You don’t have to be a glamorzon. You just need to want to have some fun with some wonderful people who share your fitness goal.
What’s your number #1 piece of advice for anyone looking to start their fitness journey? A year from now you’ll wish you’d started today!Share
