Which program are you part of at CoreFit? Large group fitness
What training, if any, did you do before starting with CoreFit? A series of life events mean’t I was very sedentary and putting on weight so I wasn’t doing much at all. I knew I wanted to get fit, but I couldn’t get into a routine with any consistency. The more I started and stopped, the more despondent and hopeless I felt.
What inspired you to reach out to CoreFit to get started? The CoreFit advert I saw said “Fit over 30” and I was about 4 months shy of turning 40. It was the sign I had been looking for. The program was 4 weeks long, and I did two classes a week which felt doable. Challenging, but not too challenging. Dan was friendly and welcoming as were the coaches. The variety in the classes made it a lot of fun which made turning up to each session even easier.
Whats the #1 thing you’ve noticed in yourself since starting? I’m so much happier. It is so much easier to enjoy life because I’m happier and I have lots more energy. Also, I always thought of myself as someone who had no willpower when it came to food and exercise. But Corefit has shown me that I can and do have willpower – I’ve had the willpower to stick at Corefit for a year now, to lose 10kgs and counting, and to achieve fitness goals I set myself. First time in my life that has happened. Fitting into clothes I haven’t worn in years is a huge bonus too.
What do you enjoy most about training at CoreFit? The atmosphere of support. Members and coaches are so friendly and welcoming and encouraging that it wasn’t hard to keep turning up even when every part of my body hurt. But the support is also there to keep you accountable and push you to achieve more. Encouragement from the coaches has helped me set stretch goals and not be afraid of trying, failing, and trying again.
What’s your number #1 piece of advice for anyone looking to start their fitness journey? Corefit has so much support to share – make use of all of it. The coaches are wonderful, you can do one-on-one PT sessions, and there are heaps of resources on their members portal including workouts you can do at home and coaching lessons from Dan. There’s so much to learn, and each little bit can help make a positive change in your life.Share
